BACKCARE AND BIOMECHANICS CLASS
It has been estimated by researchers that ninety percent of our culture running around us has some form of back pain. Our culture is no doubt a culture of sitting in front of computers, driving cars and spending way too much time on our….gluteus maximus’. We will be offering a six-week course in how to properly take care of that chronic back pain that nags you to the end of each day. Participants will learn fun and fascinating ways to take care of your back so you won’t have to be counted in the masses of people with back pain. Using breath, movement, meditation and more you will learn how to put a spring in your step and align your spine for better posturing and less pain. This class is appropriate for all levels of movers and will give you life long tools for strength and flexibility.
MONDAY EVENINGS 6:30 Beginning April 20th. Please pre-register by April 15th.

NEW ART
We are so pleased to have Michael Norviel display his works of art in the studio. For over forty years Michael has been painting New Mexico’s landscapes as well as portraits, figure studies and still lifes. He has shown primarily in Santa Fe and Albuquerque as well as Scottsdale, New York and Boston.

After graduating from the Art Institute of Boston in 1960 He went on to study medical illustration through the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School program. Michael was Director of Medical Illustration and Photography for the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Since retiring in 2000, He has been able to devote more time to painting, with his work accepted by numerous juried shows, such as The Masterworks of the Southwest.

His palette is rich in Matisse-inspired color - vibrant blues, greens, crimsons and oranges, purples and yellows - a fresh and exciting contemporary approach to the landscapes, figures and still-lifes. All of his paintings have a trace of raw canvas exposed at an edge out of respect for the Navajo weavers tradition of incorporating a 'spirit thread' that allows the spirit of the weaving to come and go ”...to be one with the world. I could do no less for my paintings.”
