About
PILATES Albuquerque’s Instructors
As
a member of the Pilates Method Alliance, we desire to maintain a safe
environment where the integrity of all methods we teach is our greatest
concern. Every instructor who teaches at PILATES albuquerque is required
to have a formal training and certification, or have been properly seasoned
by a master teacher/trainer in the method they teach.
Julie Cook has been teaching movement for over twenty years. She started out in the fitness world working with both apparently healthy individuals as a certified aerobics instructor and personal trainer as well as working with individuals with chronic pain and the senior population. Julie has been teaching movement through neuromuscular re-education for 10 years and now focuses her own private practice on individuals with chronic back pain and pathology from spine compaction.
Julie holds her Pilates training through Core Dynamics (1999) and is a certified practitioner through Polestar Education ® (2000). Using an eclectic approach to her work with clients, Julie is also certified in the methods of GYROTONIC® (2003)/GYROKINESIS ® (2004) and Bones For Life (1999). Her eclectic way of approaching a problem in movement allows each person she works with to feel a difference in the way they move and approach their life.
Her love for movement takes her out in her back yard to garden, to the streets of Albuquerque to run, the trails of the mountains to hike, as well as on century bike rides, 50 mile backpack trips, 20 mile per day walks for cancer and many other fun and adventurous treks. She loves anything that involves movement and will inspire even the most sedentary couch potato to want to move with grace and freedom.
